What We Do

At the Institute of Sustainable Development (ISD), we offer a range of services aimed at promoting environmental conservation, sustainable development, and community empowerment. Here are the key services we provide:

Community Engagement

We implement projects to empower communities. Currently we are implementing Matandani Community Irrigation Scheme Project in T/A Kuntumanje, Zomba district.

Policy Advocacy

We engage government on environmental governance, corporate responsibility, natural resources management and food security.

In 2022 we hosted the Africa Coalition on Corporate Accountability Annual General Assembly at Bingu International Conference Center (BICC)

In 2026 February, we hosted a National Policy Brief Workshop on Mandatory Human Rights and Environmental Due Diligence at Lilongwe Lifestyle Boutique Hotel.

Resource Management

We Offer tailored solutions for sustainable land use, watershed management, and forest conservation. Currently we have a training center in permaculture, agro-ecology, sustainable land use management and organic farming best practices at Nthaka Organic Farm in Mponda Village, T/A Kapeni, Blantyre.
